6.6 Training and support: Resources

NHS Employers has been commissioned by the Department of Health to work closely with key organisations to identify the further support needed by the NHS and Social Care to enable them to address the workforce implications of information prescriptions and the Information Accreditation Scheme.   As a direct result of this work,  an e-learning programme is being developed to support health and social care workers in the implementation of information prescriptions.  This training programme will be available for use through this site during the summer of 2009.

In the meantime, these NHS training resources may be useful for professionals thinking through the training implications of introducting IP.

The Education, Training and Development section provides a range of learning resources for health professionals

• Service Implementation – training from the Service Implementation Team for professionals delivering services
• Health Informatics Specialists Development – training provision for clinical coders and health records staff could be useful for staff implementing IP
