We have prepared an 'engaging people' checklist as a set of diagrams which you can download in the form of a PDF.
The checklist is ordered under three 'building blocks' headings:
- people
- culture
- systems ...
... and looks at the success factors for each (i.e. how would you measure success?), allowing for the degree of development an IP project has reached ('not well developed', 'some work done' and 'well developed').
Summary of the success criteria
People:
1. There is a high degree of staff engagement at all levels in stakeholder organisations.
2. Users and other stakeholders are fully involved from the outset and throughout the process.
Culture:
1. The value of engaging people is explicitly recognised and made a priority within organisational activity.
2. The value of engaging people is explicitly recognised and made a priority throughout the IP project work streams.
Systems:
1. There are mechanisms in place for stakeholders to share learning, formally and informally, on a regular basis.
2. There are mechanisms in place for users to feed their ideas into the process and for this to support ongoing IP development.
