Organisations supporting the project

The Department of Health has commissioned a consortium of organisations to provide evaluation, research and learning support to the Information Prescriptions pilot project. The consortium is made up of GfK-NOP, OPM and the University of York. Its main roles are to:

  • provide learning support to the sites – to ensure that all 20 sites learn from each other
  • undertake a formative evaluation of information prescriptions – to help the department and the sites to determine what makes effective information prescriptions

The specific roles of the individual organisations are:

OPM

OPM will act as the main point of contact for the 20 sites, working with them throughout the life of the project to ensure information is disseminated and helping sites to run effective and efficient projects. Currently, there are three main strands to this work:

OPM will also be taking the lead role in the evaluation: developing the theoretical framework, collecting in-depth qualitative site information and working with the University of York to analyse the findings.

GfK NOP

GfK NOP's primary role is to develop and administer the surveys of patients/users, carers and healthcare professionals.  In consultation with the Department of Health, GfK NOP will be responsible for developing a tool which will allow data to be collected from pilot sites. There are three main strands to their work:

University of York
