National Conference:
The right information at the right time
On 19 March 2008, a free, one day national conference took place at TUC Congress Hall, London. The objectives of this conference were to:
- Present delegates with the vision of information prescriptions and the tangible benefits of mainstream implementation
- Demonstrate how information prescriptions are being developed as an integral part of care – the benefits to professionals, to patients and carers including hard to reach groups, and to the non-statutory sector
- Present findings of the piloting programme evaluation, including impact of implementation
- Showcase the pilots’ experiences and highlight how information prescriptions have been introduced in different settings across England
- Highlight the related national initiatives which will support local implementation.
- Provide delegates with an opportunity to understand how information prescriptions can be introduced within their own organisation.

Information prescriptions online resource
Information prescriptions online resource pack brings together pilot experiences and provides the practical advice and tools that organisations need to introduce information prescriptions within their own organisations. There is an overview on the first page that provides a summary of what is contained in the online resource pack.
In addition there is also a short flyer promoting this online resource. Please feel free to download the flyer and share the link with colleagues so they can see at a glance what the online resource offers and how it can help and support your organisation introduce information prescriptions locally.
Information prescriptions DVD

An information prescriptions DVD is being developed for use by organisations looking to introduce IPs locally. Excerpts from this DVD were shown at the conference and each delegate was given a personal copy of the DVD in their delegate packs. The DVD contains interviews with over 30 patients, carers and professionals and covers the whole spectrum of information prescribing. An updated version including subtitles will shortly be available through the online resource.
